The Future is Now

Our daughters are both leaving the hood-we're elders-this florist shop is hard on my hands and I'm getting artritus (sp?). I think it will be good for me to sell the shop to Jadhira, take the simoleans and Pablo and I go on the simworld tour we always talked about. We're not getting younger and with the girls no longer going to be in the hood...we might as well leave when they leave. I am actually excited about the prospect of taking that tour.

Leaving

Our daughters are leaving. Selita announced that she's moving to Simborough...without her husband and child, then Cliantha annouced that she was dropping out of uni to follow some group into the jungles of Urep...or was it Upre? AHHH! Why are our daughters doing this to us! Then they had the audacity to say that I instilled in them the sense of adventure and wandering...what about responsibility! What will my superiors say!?!?!

Boy o boy! This hood has a lack of action. I've been working out to try and pass my next physical, it's harder now that my body is older, Elinor wants to move to the boarding house...that's like retirement!!! Why should I retire! I have plenty of days left in my bones! Shoot, I'll be one the next mission to orbit our double moons!

Florist Future

I have been thinking about the future of the florist shop. Cliantha is settled at university, she doesn't have plans to return to the hood, Selita has a family of her own, Pablo and I are elders and this shop is becoming a bit much for me now. We are discussing moving to the boarding house and selling our land. Jadhira has expressed interest in running a florist shop of her own, maybe I'll work at her shop-hihi, working for my trainee...hmmm, not sure I'd like that actually.

University

I started uni which is nice. Mami and Papi came to see me off and I am making friends. I have a roommate, Laci, she's from Townieston, like a lot of other students here. I don't see her much though. University is cool, and when I say cool, I mean cool. Since BAP is so far north, it's often colder here than in Apple Valley. Like there's snow on the ground at times. Or so the other students tell me. When I arrived I was nice and warm, the weather was nice and the sky was clear, but as the semester went on, the temperature started to drop and I had to wear a coat to class, but I enjoyed the first days of walking around in shorts. Gotta jet-class is calling me!

Elder

I'm an elder, but at least I look darn good! The flower shop is doing well, I really don't tend to things anymore, Jadhira pretty much runs the shop. I still arrange some of the more complex arrangements, but she is learning and quickly too. She passed her test with bronze levels, so she's no longer a trainee and I have to start paying her. Cliantha is off to university soon, it seems like her and Selita are ages apart, but well...that's just how things happened.

The ball was nice, except that there was no music or DJ! Stupid! Hazel Starr and Etta Leigh were suppose to arrange that, but that one task they failed at and all the teens walk about and were bored. No slow dancing, nothing!

Finally got some medicine to help with my depression, it took a while to find since the medical centre keeps changing. One day medicines on the second level, the next it's on the ground floor, and the next...who knows! Outside?

The business is doing badly, well, it's doing fair, but not enough for me. I had a horrible dream that I was forced to peddle on the streets. I've been in a funk eversince. This strange depression won't lift. Even news that we will be grandparents did not lift my spirits.

Sales

The shop is going well. I've been getting personal florist orders from locals. Leroy Mendenhall recieved five (of the ten) daisy bouquets for his daughter's inpending nuptials, he wanted to use them for the rehearsal dinner. Then Tatiana Garris stopped by to discuss her options for her wedding. Over chocolate eclairs, we discussed her options with wildflowers and tulips and she took a wildflower bouquet home with her to show her fiance. I hope I get the contract to furnish the flowers for that wedding. It would be amazing! I'm experimenting with combination baskets. I just need to determine how to sell them once I'm done.

Elderhood

Elderhood has claimed my body...I am an elder, joints ache, I tire easily and now the sims at the base look at me differently, perhaps this astronaut stuff is beyond me now. Perhaps I should look into something more...like retirement. I will miss the trips to the stars, the training and my commrades. The hood council wants me to consider training college students for the military...I say they need to build a fort, a military base to house operations, but they say there is no danger. Fools-we can never be unprepared! The enemy will attack then!

Adventures

I have a job! The most exciting job in the world! Even papi is happy for me. It's not the military, but muchas more cooler. I am an intern to an ambassador downtown. Soon, maybe soon I will travel the world and save relics and artifacts. Dad promised to help me train for my job. He's getting older and he still hopes to travel to UpiTo45 on the next mission. I'm still helping plan the dance, but I'm not as excited as I was. Who will I go with? I will need a new dress of course. Papi said that I could order one from All About Style. They have the bestest clothes!

Training

Training Jadhira is harder than I thought. She is easily distracted from flower arranging. I have her working on a large wedding order for a batch of daisies. They want ten arrangements for the tables and two wildflower bunches for the alter. I have two orders for funeral snapdragons (Grey, Marsh) and I will start working on birthday baskets (combinations of balloons and flowers and teddy bears). I have a lot of work to do.

I think I may have only one stand of custom flowers and then two-three stands of custom imported plants until I can build my inventory back up. That should help Jadhira get register training and some restocking tips.

The formal dance is coming soon!!! It's just for teens!!!!!!!!!! Ok, ok, calm....eeeeeeee!!!!!

The Apple Dumpling Ball (I didn't come up with the name) will be this simSaturday. It's simTuesday now, so a few more days. All the teens are invited. That means me (Cliantha), Etta Leigh and Tobi Sweeny, Hazel Starr Grey, Jolie Dawson (my cousin), Geoff, Glinda and Gayle Mendenhall, Jorge and Julio Herendez (my cousins), Ray and Rebecca Wilsonoff, Fredic and Fiona Kent, and Rosemary Pierce (my other cousin). That's 15 of us! 6 guys and 9 gals.

I am on the planning committee along with Etta Leigh and Hazel Starr. I'm not their best friends, but we're friends...I think. They don't do anywork, we have meetings and they just sit there and stare at the sky or talk about thier celebrity friends and lifestyle...it looks like I will be doing a lot of the work. I wonder if mom will do the flowers?

Our eldest daughter, Selita, is married and out of the house. Pablo finally made his dream to become an astronaut and Cliantha is breaking many a man's heart. While I...I am content with my florist shop. We're getting a new building and a relative of mine, Elaine, will be moving into the flat above the shop while we occupy the townhouse on the side of the shop, it's all the same lot, so it saves time overall. I offered her a job arranging flowers for the shop, she's still thinking about the possibility. I am excited about the new building and new changes in the hood.
